What does persecution do to a person? When does exile begin for the individual? The journalist Can Dündar, exiled from Turkey to Germany, speaks about this. The Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra then performs symphonic Syrian music that is little known in the West. A musical statement for cultural diversity without borders. The Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra is the first Syrian symphony orchestra outside Syria. Professional musicians living in Europe have teamed up in this 2015 Syrian exile orchestra. Their goal: to preserve the rich musical culture of Syria. In addition to classical works, the more than 75 musicians also regularly put contemporary Syrian and Arabic works on the program.
